Walter Fivaz, the owner of Coastal Customs in Mossel Bay. Has been building street rods and muscle cars as a passionate hobby for the past 45 years. His first build was Volkswagen Beetle which he purchased for R50 in 1970. The final paintwork was a pinkish base boat with a silver finish. Although the final colour didn’t quite pan out as anticipated, it actually turned out to be quite pleasing. After doing his own bodywork and getting it painted, he was hooked… The Beetle was eventually sold for R500.
Over the years water has completed many cars which include a 1969 RS Camaro, a Capri Perana and a Chevy Can-Am. One of his more recent builds was a complete restoration on a 1928 Chevrolet Woody truck, which has been sold to a collector in Pietersburg. Coastal Customs never lose sight of the fact that these cars are often seen as treasured members of the family.
