After various projects that we have done a potential customer contacted us to do something out of the ordinary and this is the idea that we came upon when the customer saw the rusted body of this 1971 Dodge Demon.
The body has subsequently been repaired and all rust was removed. A Ford 9 inch diff was the first choice and the suspension was modified to be able to accommodate the power steering box had to be removed otherwise the Chevy V8 motor wouldn’t fit.
Changes had to be made in order for the steering box to accommodate a Chevy 350 V8 and an upgraded 350 Turbo gearbox. It now has all round disc brakes. The 350 Chevy motor was fitted with aluminium cylinder heads, roller camshaft, roller lifters and roller rockers.
We fitted Gabriel Technomatic shocks. The motor now looks like a brand new one. All genuine Edelbrock parts were fitted.
Brand new door and window seals were imported from Australia. The rest of the parts were imported from the USA, making this quite an expensive project.
The cost was estimated around R350 000.00. The new sets of 20 inch wheels were imported from Europe and is fitted with Hankook Ventus 225/40/R20 inch tyres.
The client will take delivery in February 2015 when he returns from Dubai where he is currently working..
